HFSA provides a unified voice to negotiate contracts and insurance programs. This Association negotiates with FedEx for a national account agreement which gives its members very favorable shipping rates.
Board meetings are held monthly and members head committees on transportation, legislation, regulatory issues, membership, public relations and special programs.
A newsletter is published quarterly on this web site and is sent to any member who prefers a written copy. The newsletter keeps everyone abreast of new developments and activities.
HFSA supports and hosts horticultural and design shows to promote the use of Hawaii’s horticultural products. Additional event information can be found here.
HFSA awards annual scholarships to students majoring in agriculture or horticulture. The association has endowed scholarship money to the University of Hawaii for this purpose. Fund raisers such as a popular yearly golf tournament are held to continue to build the educational fund and raise community awareness of our industry.
The yearly Shinnenkai New Years Party welcomes new members and the incoming HFSA board of directors. It provides members with an opportunity for networking and meeting other growers, shippers and industry supporters. It features a great menu, guest speakers, and well known guests. There are lots of lucky number prizes and fun for all.
